Renaissance of Annandale Recognized for Excellence in Construction by Metro Washington Associated Builders and Contractors
State-of-the art memory care community receives Associated Builders and Contractors Award of Excellence
ANNANDALE, Va. (Nov. 26, 2019) – Renaissance of Annandale, a premier memory care community serving Fairfax County, has been named a winner by the Metro Washington and Virginia Associated Builders and Contractors’ 38th annual Excellence in Construction Awards.
Renaissance of Annandale, which received an award of excellence in the institutional category, was constructed by Scott-Long Construction, a Chantilly, Va. company which stands as one of the most respected construction companies in the Washington, D.C. area.
The award competition recognizes projects built by ABC members to honor workmanship, encourage high standards within the construction industry and celebrate the results of their significant commitment to the trade. Over 100 judges, composed of industry experts, evaluated the more than 130 entries submitted to this year’s ABC Excellence in Construction Awards for recent construction projects representing different categories.
Renaissance of Annandale community ownership, Legacy Senior Living, Miller Architects and Scott-Long Construction worked diligently to uniquely and innovatively capture construction and design concepts to best serve those battling Alzheimer’s and memory related disorders at the 47-unit memory care facility.
Renaissance of Annandale offers several state-of-the-art technologies and a unique approach to memory care such as Circadian Rhythmic LED lighting features to emulate sunrise and sunset. This technology maximizes exposure to natural light that improves sleep efficiency and alertness. From an interior design perspective, the community is furnished with mid-century furniture to remind residents of familiar and happy times in their lives. The wall colors, selectively chosen from a 1950s General Motors color wheel, match color palettes from the same era. The hallways, covered in black and white nostalgic art of local historical buildings, roads and schools of the Fairfax County area, help to recreate memories for the residents.
“On behalf of Scott-Long Construction and the Renaissance of Annandale team, we are grateful for the recognition from the Associated Builders and Contractors award for Excellence in Construction. Every decision in detail was made to create a home for our residents in the Fairfax County community,” said Barry Ray, co-founder and CEO of Legacy Senior Living.
