Renaissance of Annandale Celebrates Holiday Season By Collecting Donations for Toys for Tots

Donations from community members, residents’ family members and the community’s executive leadership were taken to Fire Station 26 to be distributed to families in need.

ANNANDALE, Va. (December 13, 2021) – Renaissance of Annandale, a state-of-the-art, specialized memory care community serving northern Virginia, celebrated the holiday season by collecting donations for the United States Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots campaign.

From December 2nd to December 11th, members of the Annandale community and family members of the memory care community’s residents dropped off toy donations for families in need at Renaissance of Annandale. The facility’s team members also participated in the campaign and went on several shopping trips to purchase toys for the drive.

“Christmas is the season of giving, and we think it’s important to take time to look outside of yourself to be a blessing to others. For our team at Renaissance of Annandale, we wanted to make sure that families who needed a little extra support this holiday season had gifts to surprise their kids with on Christmas morning. Thinking about how excited those children will be when they open their gifts and knowing that we made a small difference in their lives brings us great joy,” Jessica Peters, Executive Director of Renaissance of Annandale, said.

Barry Ray and Bryan Cook, the founders of Renaissance of Annandale’s parent organization, Legacy Senior Living, also made a $1,000 donation to the community for the campaign.

“We are incredibly grateful to have our founders on board with our mission to show love to our community.  Thank you to the members of our community, our residents’ families and everyone else who helped us celebrate the season of giving by donating! It’s because of you that we were able to donate this year,” Peters said.

All of the collected toys were delivered to Fairfax County Fire Station #26 and will be distributed to families in the Annandale area in time for Christmas.
